beach wedding

What to look out for when planning the wedding, the information below marks how (part 2):

  • Arrangement of tables & chairs

This is one of the tricky issues to consider. Should you let your guests stand or sit and where should the reception be? As the venue is rather out of the ordinary, you would have to take the extra mile to think this part through. The soft sand would means that the tables and chairs would sink in and make be in a weird position which is not conducive. Thus having some sort of a flooring would help to minimize this.

Having a layout prior would greatly help in the planning and the decoration.

  • Decors

Having decors (e.g. centerpiece) that match the theme and the setting is important. Having the aisle lined up with small pebble stones and wedding favors of seaside theme would greatly enhance the beach wedding theme. Do plan this carefully so as to keep within your budget.

  • Restrooms

Do check out if there are any restrooms in the area. If not, do rent some portable ones to prevent your guests.

  • Spot on the beach

If you are using a public beach, do choose a spot that is less crowded to host your wedding to prevent any distractions from the crowd. Do observe the local rules and regulations on the use of the beach.

  • Cleanliness

When all the fun is over, you would need to consider the packing up of the venue. Do engage a few crews to clean the area up to avoid getting into trouble with the local authorities for dirtying the beach.

  • Others

If your wedding venue is not in your home country, there are other considerations to look into to:

  • Arrange a range of possible accommodations of different budgets for your guests to choose from, preferably, somewhere near the venue to minimize the traveling.

  • Arrange the transportation from the accommodations to the venue. If this is not within your budget, it would be advisable to try to arrange the guests to put up in affordable accommodations near your venue, preferably within walking distance.

  • Do get the guests to arrange to send the wedding gifts to your house, to avoid having to lug them back.

  • Do take advantage of the services and products that are local in the area, such as getting wedding favors which are unique to the local, to minimize logistics.

  • Do think of whether to conduct a second wedding reception for the guests that were unable to attend.
