Thailand Marriage Regulations

If you are seeking to get legally married in Thailand, you have to get married under the Thai law. Do check with your local Thai embassies for more information regarding the procedures and fees required.

Some wedding vendors in Thailand also help to take care of the necessary paperwork needed.

One thing to note is to arrive early, preferably one week in advance to get the necessary documents translated in Thai to facilitate the application process. You can then request to translate the wedding certificate back in English.

Documents required:

• Proof of identity such as passports
• Bride and groom must be of 18 years of age or older.
• Both must be single
• If either party is widowed or divorced, relevant paperwork must be provided (original only).
• 6 months validity of passports
