Phuket (How to get there?)

Phuket, located
approximately 862km from
Bangkok, is Thailand’s largest island and known as Pearl of Andaman / Pearl of the South. Its natural beauty, with powdery white sands, rocky
cliffs, and dense forests has made it a popular tourist destination.
The best time to visit
Phuket is in the months of November to February. Avoid September and October as these are the wettest
months.
With the recent tsunami
attack in the South East Asia Region, Phuket is currently on the verge of reconstruction.
You could hold a beach
wedding on the great beaches in Phuket. However do engage a wedding planner from your beach resort to help you plan for the romantic
wedding as not all spots can be used to conduct a wedding. They can also help you do the necessary paperwork if you should want to get a legal
marriage in Thailand.
There are many
activities, which you can do on the beach. The range of accommodation can be from the inexpensive hotels to the huge bungalows and
all-inclusive resorts.
Popular Beaches:
The busiest and most developed
beach. There is a wide range of activities, which you can do such as swimming, parasailing, etc. Lots of great accommodations
around.
South of Patong Beach, it boasts lovely curves coastline with small sand
dunes, palm trees. Do note that there are undertows at the beach during the months of May to October and thus do look out for warning signs
before going to swim at the beach.
There are 2 beaches,
Small Kata and Big Kata. Both are famous for their enriching eco life and thus snorkeling is very popular there. There are great international
well-known brands such as Club Med, which reside there.
Home to the sea gypsies, this
beach has a great spots for diving and snorkeling besides chartering the boats to explore the outer islands.
Less crowded beaches:
North of the famous
Patong Beach. It is nice and quiet here. Do visit the Freedom Beach too.
A 2-kilometer beach for
peace and relaxation.
In close proximity to the Kata Beach, this beach has two beautiful lagoons and powdery white sands and
turquoise waters.
It is accessible by songthaeos or tuk tuks, though the earlier is a lot more cheaper.
