How to
Get to Australia?
You would need a valid
passport or similar certificate of identification. All visitors except those with Australian and New Zealand passports have to have visas or
an ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) to enter Australia.
The ETA is issues
electronically by a computer system for the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) of
Australia.
Depending on the types of
visa you are applying, the cost of the visa varies and medical examination or character clearance might be needed for certain
categories.
Visas:
You could apply for an *ETA
(Visitor) through the following ways:
- via a travel agent,
airline or specialist service provider
- applying directly
via the Internet; or
- applying at an
Australian visa office overseas.
An ETA (Visitor) does not attract a visa
application charge, however if you apply for your ETA on the Internet you will incur a Service Charge of AUS$20. Certain service providers would
charge a handling fee. So do check out the fees first.
It is valid for multiple visits from 12
months from the date of application with the maximum stay of 3 months for each visit.
