Marriage License Requirements in Hawaii

• Both partners must be at least eighteen (18) years old and single to obtain a Hawaii marriage license.

• You do not need to be a resident of Hawaii.

• Both applicants must appear in person and provide a picture identification with the date of birth shown, such as a driver's license or passport.

• The marriage license is issued at the time of application and is valid for 30 days.

• Cost of the marriage license fee is around $60 (Subjected to change). It is valid only in the State of Hawaii.

• The prospective bride and groom must appear together in person before a marriage license agent to apply for a marriage license. Proxies are not allowed.

• The prospective bride and groom must prepare an official application and file the application in person with the marriage license agent. You may get the application forms from the marriage license agent or the authorities website. Application via postal mail or e-mail will not be accepted.

• Upon approval, a marriage license is issued at the time the application is made.

Important!!

For those Under 18:

• Written consents from the minor's legal guardian or parent and written approval from the judge of a family court. You could get the consent forms from the marriage agent.
