Checklist for Scouting for Wedding Dress
When should I start preparing to look for my wedding dress? What are the designs to match the
beach wedding theme? This may be questions which you have been pondering over.
As a rule of thumb, do
start your research early.
Below are some
estimated timeline which you can refer to as a guide. The timeline depends on how soon you want
to get married. One note of caution is that sometimes a rush job might not yield good results!!
12 months or earlier
Do look around and do some research either through magazines, word of mouth, local stores or the
Internet.
8 - 9 months before
Check out the store which you feel most comfortable or to look for a good dress over the Internet.
Do give yourself plenty of time for fittings and alterations.
Try to get a sample of the fabric for you to find other matching accessories such as wedding shoes
and jewelry.
3 - 4 months before
Do try on your wedding dress if you have custom made the dress. If you have bought over the
Internet, you should try on prior and do any alterations at your local tailor or seamstress store. This should be the time to do the
fitting and to provide ample time for alterations and last minute
additions.
Try to bring all the matching accessories you have in mind together when doing the fitting to see
if they match.
1 month before
Do the final touch up and try again. Do make sure that everything is perfect.
2 weeks before
Pick up your dress and try again. You should be fine to go!
Remember: Keep your wedding dress properly!!!
