Pampering your hands – making them perfect on the big day!

What can be more important than to look good on your big day? Making sure that your hands are smooth would aid to make your wedding ring or jewelry look fantastic on you.

Here are some little tips which you can use as a guide to make sure that your hands are perfect for that day!

If you are busy and have no time to go to the nail salon for a manicure or pedicure, do practice some daily regime to keep your hand and nails nice.

Pampering your hands:

Use a good hand moisturizer (lotion or cream) to hydrate your hands so as to make them look smooth and soft. Avoid alcohol based products as they will dry your skin. For good results, choose a hand moisturizer that contains mineral oil or shea butter.

Use a less harsh soap to wash your hands to avoid drying them.

Pampering your nails:

You would need a nail clipper, emery board, buffer, cuticle pusher, cotton balls, oil or cream.

Use the nail clipper to trim or shorten your nails, then use the emery board to smooth the edges and shape your nails.

Use the buffer to exfoliate the nails and to make them shine. Gently buff your nails a few times.

Use the cotton balls to dip into nail polish remover to remove the nail polish, if any.

Rub the oil or cream onto the perimeter of the nail to moisturize it. Then remove with the cotton ball soaked in polish remover. Apply your base coat and then 2 thin coats of the nail color, followed by the top coat.

You could use a bowl of ice water to help set your nail color quickly. Soak your nails into the water after the top coat dries.

If you have discolored nails, soak your fingers in freshly squeezed lemon juice for a few minutes and then buff the nails.

You should now be well set to go.
