Wedding Makeup Tips - Best Time to Get Married
Looking great on your
wedding is the most important thing for every bride. Most brides spent a huge amount of time looking for the perfect dress and shoes and
leaving little time to plan for the look they want on their wedding day.
You could enlist
professional help from makeup artists to help create the look you want but do spend some time to think of the kind of look you want on your
wedding day. Don’t get yourself into a situation where you start to panic. If you are engaging a makeup artist, do go for a few trials first.
Take pictures of the look you want by using a Polaroid camera to see the effect. Sometimes you might look good but when you look at the
pictures taken, you realize that you are shinning all over!
If you really want to try
something new, do try it before your wedding day. Do not try to get into a complete new look on the actual day. It might turn out to be
disastrous! One important thing to take note is that you are supposed to be you, so don’t try on something which makes you look like a
completely different person!
I recently found out that
there is actually some ‘knowledge’ behind why certain makeovers are suitable for different timing of the day.
Morning
Bride
If you are holding a
morning reception, your makeup should be soft and pretty to match the cool natural light. If you are someone who prefers a natural look, you
should opt to have your ceremony in the morning as you wear the least amount of makeup.
But not everyone can go for
this option, if you are prone to breakouts or have a lot of blemishes and scars, you might not want to get married in the morning due to the
limited coverage.
Choose warm colors for the
eyes and define your eyes well so that they open up. Use a natural or soft lip color to complement the look.
If the photographer is
good, he would be capturing the natural light to enhance your looks in the photos.
Afternoon / Midday
bride
If you choose to get married at this time of the day, be warned that there
might be shadows cast on your face as the sun is directly above you. Use a light weight foundation with a matte powder finish. A crème blush
is perfect for this as it adheres to your skin.
Use some highlight on your
eyes to minimize the shadows in your eyes. However an over dosage might cause your eyes to look shiny in the photos. Define your
eyes.
Remember to blend well as
the light is just perfect to disclose your flaws of make up.
Tip: Do not wear foundation with dewy texture or sheen
as it would add on to the shine in the photographs.
Evening Bride
If you are the type that is
glam and flamboyant, perhaps you should try to be an evening bride. You can wear more shimmering eye shadows and define your
features.
If you have less than
perfect skin, this might be a good time as you can have more foundation and powder to cover up the flaws to get a flawless
look.
Late afternoon is the best time to get married if your skin is less than perfect. You can have more color
options for your eye shadows. Use a shimmering eyeshadow and a richer lip color to enhance your look.
Tip: A matte skin always photographs
better.
