Beach Wedding Reception

The wedding reception is one of the important areas in a wedding, be it a beach theme wedding or a traditional wedding.

You would need to consider on what type and the timing of wedding reception you want to have. But this is dependent on the theme of the wedding and your venue.

You can do up a checklist and a seating plan to help to organize the event for the big day.

• Brunch (10 am or  11am) - Recommended for beach wedding

Food served is usually breakfast stuff such as bread, sandwiches, or small finger foods plus beverages such as fruit punch, tea, coffee.

Great to consider as it is cheaper but it might be a bit too early for guests.

You might save a bit on drinks as it is a but too early to have them. You could have a stand up reception, which means you could have minimial tables around.

• Lunch (12 noon onwards)

Food served is usually filling food such as pastas, sandwiches and light snacks etc.

Relatively inexpensive and can be combined with a morning wedding ceremony.

You may need to arrange for some logistics such as tables and chairs for the guests to sit on.

It is relatively early for the guests to party but give them plenty of time to return home is they live far away.

• Tea (3 pm or 4pm)

Food served is light snacks and some cocktails or wine. However if you are having a beach wedding, it is hot!!! Unless you have decided to have a tent set up, if not this is certainly a bad option!!. You and your guests will be sweating under the hot sun!

You can invite a lot of guests as it is not a full course meal, which means you can save on a large budget.

• Dessert / Cocktail (5 pm onwards) - Recommended for beach wedding

Food served are light snacks, similar to what might be for tea.

Cheap but guests might not be able to fill their stomachs!!! Also if you are having a party afterwards, do make sure that you offer some filling meals or else you might find them not staying long.

• Dinner (6 pm onwards) - Recommended for beach wedding - Best & Most Expensive Option

Food served are full course meal. it might be a sit in or a buffet style. Lots of food varieties options and includes beverages such as cocktails or wines.

The most expensive among the rest but the guests can party after that. You may need to arrange for some logistics such as tables and chairs for the guests to sit on. So do add in some music.

Your guests might need some accomodation if they live quite a distance away.
